A healthy, nutritious breakfast for a seaside escape

This morning, everyone is on top form! Whilst the early risers go in search of croissants at the campsite reception, others set the table on the terrace for a sun-drenched breakfast. Orange juice, coffee, mini baguettes and good vibes on the menu.

You get the rucksacks ready with flasks, sunglasses and windcheaters; you head for Penmarc’h and the renowned Phare d’Eckmühl lighthouse!

Climb the steps of the Phare d’Eckmühl

Not a cloud in the sky, the sea air invigorating! After a quick look around Saint-Guénolé harbour to see the trawlers, you start climbing the lighthouse. 307 steps later you see breathtaking views. The ocean as far as the eye can see, black coastal rocks, the waves crashing against them, and in the distance, the Baie d’Audierne.

Laughing, the children count the seagulls, whilst you admire this unique view from the lighthouse’s platform.

A visit to the fishing museum

Before returning to the car, detour to Haliotika – La Cité de la Pêche fishing museum in Le Guilvinec. The children listen, fascinated, to tales of sailors and discover the secrets of the fish auction.

With play workshops and immersive reconstructions, there is something for everyone here. The exhibition about storms leaves you speechless.

13:00
Picnic stop facing the ocean

Head for the Pointe de la Torche promontory for lunch! You open out the tablecloth on the dunes, sheltered from the wind. Homemade sandwiches, crisps, fresh fruit and sweet treats for dessert…a real delight!

Surfers glide on the waves below. The perfect time for a short siesta, the gentle cries of seagulls overhead.

An afternoon by the water

Head for the vast Pors-Carn beach, for a well-deserved swim. Here the sand is soft, the water still cold, yet no matter, shouts of laughter continue to ring out!
Building sandcastles, shell hunting, pebble skimming competitions…Where does the afternoon go? A quick detour to the refreshments stand for an ice cream or crêpe caps off the adventure.
